The wanderer in us (Jin n Me) was not really wandering enough, this is what we both mutually consented to one week day. So a plan had to be hatched which would not tire us on the first day of the weekend (unfortunate that we have only two days). After exploring a lot of options (i.e ranganathittu, somanathapura...) the decision was made Hogenakkal Falls it was gonna be.
Had to be an early start to the day, though these are the winter months, but the sun can burn you out enough. 0530hrs outta bed, 0545hrs out on the road. The route to Hogenakkal falls was pretty straightforward Hosur-Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri(NH7)-Pennagaram- Hogenakkal(SH60).172kms and 3hrs later when we reached Hogenakkal we were sure about one thing no matter how good the falls are the drive was brilliant. If you the thought the NH would be a nice drive, believe me the twisty turny road a little ghat section and the sights along the way was the highlight of the SH.
We were expecting to take the same road back however we did miss a turn and on the way back bypassed Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri and directly joined NH7 at Hosur. Route on the way back was Hogenakkal-Pennagaram (SH60)- Left turn just before Dharmapuri to join SH17- Pallakodu-Rayakottai-Hosur (SH17)- Bangalore (NH7). Surprisingly though the SH is just a two lane road. But 158kms and 2.5hrs later we were home. Thankfully both way we had absolutely zero traffic delays other than the toll booths, this however I attribute to our decision of leaving early from home and getting back early too.
